This Trek is for those who have limited time but still want a real Himalayan experience. It is moderately easy and starts at Nayapul, just 2 hours drive from Pokhara. After two days you will reach the village of Ghorepani and from here you can climb Poon Hill (3193m) for a dawn view of all the famous Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Mountains to the North. In addition to the fine scenery, you will be trekking through rhodondendron forests and enjoying the warm hospitality of the local people.
The trek will also take you to the typical Gurung village of Ghandruk where you will find the Headquarters of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). ACAP pioneered community orientated conservation projects ranging from solar heating to re-forestation to help the fragile Himalayan eco-system. These excellent projects have been replicated throughout the rest of the trekking regions.
