This trek will takes you to one of the most beautiful valleys just south of Tibet containing the tranquil lakes at Gosaikunda. You start your trek from Dhunche which is about 8 hours drive from Kathmandu and climb slowly through alpine forest covered with rhododendrons. Along the trail are small villages with shrines and monasteries and delightfully hospitable people whose origin is linked more to Tibetan culture. Goasikunda at 4000m provides magnificent views of Langtang Lirung (7246 m) and Ganesh Himal. For an intense and spiritual experience, time your visit on the August full moon and you will encounter thousands of Hindus and Buddhist pilgrims trekking up to bathe in the cold waters of the lake. Hindus believe that Lord Shiva created the lake and bathing here will wash away all their bad karma. The trail from here will take you over Laurebina pass (4610m) down to Tharepati and Chisapani before the final descend to Sundarijal and a short drive back to your hotel in Kathmandu.
