Langtang valley Trekking is just south of the Tibetan border and surrounded by Langtang Lirung (7245m), Ganesh Himal (7406m) and the Manaslu massif (7893m to 8156m). It was made famouse by the British mountaineer Bill Tilman who described it as the most beautiful valley in the world.
The trek to Langtang valley starts at Syabru Besi which is about 8 hours drive north from Kathmandu. initially the trail ascends a fairly deep densely forested valley which opens up into a wide flower scattered alpine meadow which at times of the year is covered with flowers. The old settlements of Langtang and Kyangjin Gompa are here. Langtang trek will suit those with limited time, particularly those with an interest in nature due to the broad range of flora and fauna.
