On offer is a delightful culture and traditions of predominantly Tamang communities. These hardy highland dwellers are very friendly and hospitable and have more in common with their neighbours in Tibet.Needless to say you will also experience many spectacular mountain views.
The trek starts at Sybru Besi which is about 8 hours drive from Kathmandu, and takes you through Goljung, Getlang and Briddim villages. There are ancient Buddhist monasteries in each of these locations. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche or Padmasambhava who first transmitted Vajrayana Buddhism to Tibet chose the site of the most revered Dukchu monastery in Briddim.
After Briddim, the trek follows the main Langtang Valley route up to Kyangjin Gompa and back. Those with limited time can head back to Dhunche and to Kathmandu from Briddim.
