Lower Dolpo Circuit Trekking

If you don't have time or want to pay the hefty permit fee but still wish to have the mystic Dolpo experience, this is the trek for you. The Lower Dolpo Circuit Trek starts from the airstrip at Juphal and head towards the Tarakot and Dho Tarap villages. It is an easy start down to Thulo Bheri river valley to Dunai and Tarakot. Here you may wish to take a short walk up to an old Gumba Tara monastery. Next two days are up through a narrow gorge of the lower Tarap valley to a picturesque Dolpo village of Dho Tarap. You spend a day here to explore and acclimatise. Next part of the trek will require a hard slog over two challenging 5000m+ passes but the effort will be rewarded with the views of the high mountains and the tranquil Poksundo Lake. You have well deserved rest here and should spend that time to explore Ringmo before heading back to Juphal for the flight back.
